What does it mean to Start Smart?

	Start Smart is the opportunity to ensure that your child/grandchild is protected now and will be able to retain protection in the future.
	Start Smart is the opportunity to provide your child/grandchild with term insurance and guaranteed insurability as they grow into adulthood.
	Start Smart is National Catholic Society of Foresters’ commitment to children. You can join with us to pass on the tradition of NCSF and bridge the past with the future. Each child can become a “Member for Life."

The Product (Form 07CE-CTI)

	Single Premium!! A one-time payment of $125 purchases $10,000 of term insurance or a one-time payment of $250 purchases $20,000 of term insurance.
	Term insurance for the child from date of purchase to age 25.
	Guaranteed option to convert to permanent life insurance plan after 7 years of ownership with last conversion date age 25. Maximum total conversion amount of $50,000.
	Can be purchased for the child anytime from birth to their 18th birthday.
	Only one Start Smart Certificate will be issued on an individual’s life.
	Two questions on the application will determine whether the child qualifies for this opportunity.
	As a new member the child receives full membership benefits of NCSF.

NCSF Fraternal Benefits
The new member is immediately eligible for a ScriptSave® prescription card offering savings at the pharmacy.

After two years of insurance coverage, the new member will have the opportunity to apply for educational grants which help defray the expense of Catholic grade school, religious education program, or Catholic high school. Those attending college are eligible to apply for scholarships. NCSF awards a total of twenty (20) scholarships to members who are entering college, already in college, or attending occupational training.

NCSF also encourages each court to have a junior activity program. This provides the child with both fun activities and projects that teach the importance of volunteering and service to others.

How to Purchase
There are two methods by which you can purchase “Start Smart ... Term to 25” for your child/grandchild. Either contact your local sales representative for a personal consultation which will also give you the opportunity to review other insurance options, or simply complete the application—making certain all required signatures are present, enclose a check for the proper amount and mail to NCSF – New Business, 320 S School Street, Mount Prospect IL 60056.
